I do, or at least my family thinks I do. They know it's my time to scout the mountain side out and they know I'm on the hunt for the special one, the imperfect, perfect Christmas tree. We've been going to the mountains for over 30 years scouting the tree farms in NC, looking for that magical tree. It's a wonderful time of year for us, so many beautiful memories are made and beautiful time spent together as a family.
Christmas in July is a perfect time of year to get us ready for the upcoming holidays and determine what Christmas tree farms we want to visit this year. The "Perfect" Christmas Tree - Nothing like the fresh aroma of a live tree during the holidays. To find the perfect Christmas tree that will last the longest and make it to Christmas, gently grab the inside of a branch and pull your hand toward you. The needles should be resilient and the needles should adhere to the branch and not fall off in your hand. The needles should stay on the tree. Alternatively, gently tap the cut end of a tree on the ground; if a few needles fall off, that should be fine as long as the tree is not dry and brown. Does the tree have a wonderful aroma? The is fresh scent is everything. Also, the needles should look shiny, green, and fresh—not dry or brown.
